John W. Roland engages in the general practice of law with an emphasis in labor and employment law, litigation and health care law.
Mr. Roland received his undergraduate degree from Princeton University, his law degree from Villanova University and his L.L.M. in labor law from Temple University. He was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar in 1976.
He has defended clients against claims of discrimination in court and before administrative agencies. He has represented management in labor relation matters, including assisting in organizing campaigns, negotiating contracts and handling arbitrations. He has provided counsel on issues of compliance with workplace regulations and has also participated in arbitration and alternative dispute resolution techniques.
Mr. Roland has spoken to various groups, including the Berks County Manufacturers Association, the Berks County Chamber of Commerce, and the Society for Human Resource Management, on issues related to employment and labor law.
Mr. Roland has served on the Lawyers Advisory Committee for the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Berks County Chamber of Commerce. He has been a member of the Campaign Capital Review Board and the Greater Berks Development Fund. Currently, he sits on the Board of The Reading Hospital and Medical Center and is on the Advisory Committee of the Berks Center for Mental Health. In addition, he is Chairman of the Board of The Highlands at Wyomissing and the Reading-Berks Conference of Churches. He is a member of the Berks County, Pennsylvania and American Bar Associations.
